People Tree has teamed up with Turkish producer SARP, renowned for their sustainable and ethical credentials, to reduce the environmental impact on the manufacturing of denim. In an industry infamous for its negative environmental impact, this is something to be proud of.

SARP Jeans was founded in 1983 in Izmir, Turkey, under the principles of sensitivity to social responsibility and sustainability, as well as high quality production. They hold GOTS certification, and since 2016 have been inspected by FWF (Fair Wear Foundation).

Employees are trained about the environment, and efforts are made to protect both water and energy. Dyes and washes used are GOTS certified.

SARP run a project for the rehabilitation and integration of people who used to be in prison, and have also established a textiles workshop in a prison.

In addition to this, they run a tree planting project in the arid regions of Turkey, and so far have planted 1000 trees.
